Associated Mines and Tin Industries

Associated Mines and Tin Industries Limited represents the Jos-Bukuru tin mining heritage of Plateau State, which was Nigeria's primary mining industry from the early 1900s through the 1970s, producing tin ore for export. While commercial tin mining has substantially declined, small-scale and artisanal tin mining continues in the Jos-Bukuru axis and remains a significant informal sector employer. Attempts to revive large-scale tin mining have been ongoing.
