Pan-African digital systems engineering — headquartered in Johannesburg, operating continent-wide
Visit websiteWe are PANEOTECH, a Pan-African digital systems engineering firm. Our head office is in Johannesburg, with regional offices in Nairobi, Kigali, and Lomé. Our work is the design, build, and long-term operation of digital platforms and data systems for African organizations — governments, multilaterals, enterprises, and civil society.
Our engineering teams combine local context with the discipline expected of international delivery. We work primarily in PHP, JavaScript, and modern cloud infrastructure, and we favour systems that are transparent, maintainable, and owned by our clients rather than rented from proprietary vendors. We are comfortable operating across English and French, across the public and private sector, and across the full lifecycle of a platform from initial scoping through long-term support.
Our focus is platforms that African institutions actually need
We deliver bespoke information systems for ministries, regulators, and multilateral programmes — from agricultural registries to policy data portals.
We design reference platforms that aggregate, structure, and expose complex datasets to the professionals who work with them.
We integrate AI assistants and data-processing pipelines into production systems where they add real value — not as demos, but as tools our users rely on.
We maintain the systems we build. Our clients get a technology partner, not a one-off vendor — our teams stay with a platform for the years it takes to reach its potential.
Beyond client projects, we build and operate our own products to serve African markets directly. Each product addresses a specific need we have seen repeatedly across our client engagements:
This portfolio is the result of years of building for clients and noticing where the same gaps appear across sectors.
We developed All Business Africa in partnership with PoliWatch Africa, who own the platform and set its editorial direction. Our role is the technical one: we designed the architecture, built the platform, ingested and structured the initial datasets, and we maintain and evolve the system on an ongoing basis.
We take this kind of partnership structure seriously. Editorial decisions belong to PoliWatch Africa — what gets covered, how it is framed, which datasets take priority. Engineering decisions belong to us — how the platform is built, how it scales, how it stays up. Both sides contribute to the same mission, with clear boundaries about who owns what.
If you are building a platform that needs a similar partnership of mission and engineering, we would welcome a conversation. Reach us through paneo.tech.
