Enyimba Automated Shoe Company

Enyimba Automated Shoe Company Limited (ENASCO) is a modern automated shoe manufacturing company established in 2020 in Aba, Abia State by the Abia State Government under former Governor Dr Okezie Ikpeazu. The factory was set up after the state sponsored 30 Aba shoemakers to train in automated shoe manufacturing in China, and then procured the equipment they used during training. ENASCO produces up to 2 million pairs of shoes annually with modern machinery, serving as a shared production facility that allows individual Aba shoemakers to bring their designs for machine-produced manufacturing. The factory was conceived to modernise Aba's massive but fragmented shoemaking industry (estimated 110,000+ individual shoemakers producing ~1 million pairs per week).
