Kevian Kenya Limited

Kevian Kenya Limited is a Kenyan food and beverage manufacturer producing fruit juices, fruit drinks, fruit nectars, drinking water, carbonated soft drinks, and extracted fruit pulp. Founded in 1995 by Kimani Rugendo and his wife Helen Rugendo with KSh 25 million in seed capital, Kevian's flagship brands include Afia Juice, Pick 'N' Peel, Mt Kenya bottled water, and a line of non-alcoholic malt drinks (Plain Malt, Energy Malt, Lemon Malt, Orange Malt). The company operates two factories: one on Ngong Road in Nairobi and a second in Thika opened in 2005, producing 20,000 litres per hour of Pick 'N' Peel and 40,000 bottles per hour of Afia Juice. Products are exported to Uganda, Tanzania, Ethiopia, Sudan, and Zambia. In 2019 the company secured a KSh 1.3 billion loan from German development financier DEG for expansion (following a KSh 903 million DEG loan in 2012). Kimani Rugendo is a former Ford-Asili political party chairman who vied for the Langata parliamentary seat in 1992.
