Maboneng Precinct

Maboneng Precinct is a pioneering urban regeneration and cultural district located in the formerly-decayed eastern central business district of Johannesburg, developed from 2008 onwards by Jonathan Liebmann and Propertuity. "Maboneng" means "Place of Light" in Sesotho, and the precinct has transformed former warehouses and industrial buildings into artist studios, galleries, restaurants, boutique hotels, apartments, and markets, becoming a symbol of Johannesburg urban regeneration. The Market on Main Sunday Market has become a key Johannesburg cultural destination.
