Misr Spinning and Weaving Company is Egypt's oldest and largest public textile company, founded in 1927 by Talaat Harb in Mahalla El Kubra. The company has been central to Egypt's textile industry and Egyptian industrial history for nearly a century, and remains a major Egyptian public-sector employer despite modernisation challenges.
