Obriani Retail Chain

Obriani was one of South Africa's first black-owned, township-based fashion boutique chains, launched in the mid-1980s during apartheid-era South Africa. By the early 1990s, the company had grown from a single location in Pretoria to a chain of eight stores across two provinces, representing an early and influential example of black South African retail entrepreneurship in the face of apartheid economic restrictions.
