About Obudu Mountain Resort

Obudu Mountain Resort (also known as Obudu Cattle Ranch) is a famous Nigerian mountain resort located on the Obudu Plateau in Cross River State, at 1,576 metres above sea level, offering a cool climate, scenic mountain views, and a network of trails and chalets. Originally established in 1951 as a cattle ranch by M. McCaughley, a Scottish rancher, the resort was developed into a major tourism destination by the Cross River State Government in the 2000s. The resort is accessible via the famous Obudu Cable Car (the longest cable car in Africa) and features the Obudu Mountain Race, one of Nigeria's most iconic sporting events.
