About Shanduka Group Legacy

Shanduka Group was a prominent South African black economic empowerment (BEE) investment company founded in 2001 by Cyril Ramaphosa (current President of South Africa), one of the most prominent BEE investment vehicles of the 2000s-2010s. The group held stakes in McDonald's South Africa, Coca-Cola Shanduka Beverages, and other significant South African businesses. Ramaphosa divested from Shanduka when he entered politics in 2014, and the company's assets were subsequently restructured. Shanduka represented a significant moment in South African black economic transformation.
