Equity Bank is the largest commercial bank in Kenya by market capitalization (USD 1.79 billion) and a regional banking heavyweight with operations in Kenya, DRC, Rwanda, South Sudan, Tanzania, and Uganda. Approximately 72% of Equity Banks loan book is committed to small and medium-sized enterprises, making it the dominant SME lender in East Africa. Equity Bank holds a USD 1 billion partnership with the African Guarantee Fund for SME lending and has received a USD 100 million subordinated facility from IFC. The bank operates Equity Asset Finance, Biashara Loans, and Trade Finance products specifically tailored to SMEs.
