Pula is a Kenya-founded insurtech company that has built infrastructure for weather-indexed and area-yield-indexed crop insurance products. The company works with mobile network operators, input suppliers, and governments to embed insurance into agricultural transactions. Insurance premiums are typically bundled with input credit, making Pula a key enabler of integrated input-credit-insurance models for smallholder farmers in Mali, Uganda, Kenya, and other markets. Pula is one of the operators that makes integrated agricultural finance work at smallholder scale.
