Description
The Youth Enterprise Development Fund (YEDF) was founded in May 2007 under Legal Notice No. 63 by the Kenyan Ministry of ICT, Innovation and Youth Affairs. The fund targets Kenyan youth aged 18-35 with business loans up to KES 100,000 for individuals and KES 500,000 for registered youth groups. Since inception to June 2022, YEDF has advanced loans amounting to KSh 14.2 billion to 2 million youth with an average loan size of KSh 7,100. The fund has facilitated entrepreneurial training for 97,880 youth and supported 3,490 youth at trade fairs. FY 2024/2025 government allocation: KSh 200 million.
