Amr Awadallah is an angel investor specializing in software, artificial intelligence, and machine learning, focusing on seed to Series A stages in the United States, Egypt, and Germany. He has invested in companies such as PlayAI, AppFlowy, and Nextdata. In addition to his investment activities, Amr is the CEO and co-founder of Vectara, a company that enables organizations to leverage Generative AI in business applications by reducing risks from hallucinations, bias, copyright infringement, and model weight pollution. Prior to Vectara, he served as Vice President of Developer Relations at Google Cloud. Amr co-founded Cloudera in 2008 and served as its Global Chief Technology Officer, spending 11 years working closely with enterprises worldwide on big data solutions. He also served as Vice President of Product Intelligence Engineering at Yahoo! from 2000 to 2008. Amr holds a PhD in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University and bachelor's and master's degrees from Cairo University in Egypt.
