About Andreas M. Antonopoulos

Andreas M. Antonopoulos is a British-Greek Bitcoin advocate, tech entrepreneur, and educator. He is known for making complex subjects easy to understand and highlighting both the positive and negative impacts these technologies can have on our global societies. As an educator, his mission is to educate as many people as possible, in as many places as possible, in as many languages as possible, about Bitcoin and open blockchains. He has served as a teaching fellow for the free Introduction to Digital Currencies course offered to the public at the University of Nicosia. Along with co-authoring the course curriculum, Andreas has also written two best-selling technical books for programmers, Mastering Bitcoin and Mastering Ethereum. He has published The Internet of Money series of books, which focus on the social, political, and economic importance and implications of these technologies. In addition to these books, he has authored hundreds of syndicated articles on security, cloud computing, and data centers; and is a frequent speaker at technology and security conferences worldwide. Andreas has also been an angel investor in a dozen other failed, alive or thriving ventures. He is also a mentor in a few select accelerators such as Wayra and Startup Yard. Andreas has held a senior executive appointment in academia at Central European University before UNYP as well as a variety of senior and middle management appointments in leading telecom sector companies such as RHK, Lucent Technologies, Nortel Networks and British Telecom. Andreas has worked and/or lived in Argentina, Brazil, Germany, Greece, Hungary, the Philippines, Romania, Singapore, Spain, the UK and the US, and speaks six languages. He holds a Ph.D. in Electrical & Electronics Engineering from University College London, UK and an MBA from the Weatherhead School of Management at Case Western Reserve, Cleveland, Ohio, USA.
