Blacks Brewery & Distillery
About Blacks Brewery & Distillery
Blacks Brewery & Distillery, established in 2013 by husband and wife team Sam and Maud Black, is a microbrewery and distillery based in Kinsale, County Cork, Ireland. The company has expanded its product range to include beer, gin, rum, and whiskey, with a focus on producing high-quality spirits that reflect the rich heritage of Irish distilling. Their whiskey offerings include limited edition casks, single malt, and pot still varieties, aged in various cask types such as ex-bourbon, sherry, and rum casks. The company provides investment opportunities through its Whiskey Founders Club, allowing individuals to purchase casks of whiskey starting from €6,500. Each cask is numbered and can be personalized, yielding over 350 bottles of five-year-old single malt Irish whiskey upon maturation. Investors have the option to bottle, keep, or sell their cask, with the possibility of a minimum 4% annually compounded return if they choose to sell back to the distillery. Additionally, Blacks Brewery & Distillery offers the Decade Cask Share, allowing investors to own a 1/10th share in a hand-selected cask of five-year-old Irish whiskey, maturing for ten years before bottling. Blacks Brewery & Distillery has achieved recognition for its products, including winning a gold medal at the 2020 World Rum Awards for its spiced rum. The company has also expanded its distribution into major Irish retailers and is in the process of relocating to a new waterside location in Kinsale to facilitate increased production and storage for both the distillery and brewery. This expansion includes plans for a visitor center, office space, and industrial facilities to support brewing, distilling, and in-house canning operations. The company is actively seeking investors to support its growth and expansion plans, with opportunities available through private equity, the Employment Investment Incentive Scheme (EIIS), and convertible loan notes.
