An impact-first investment program managed by Conservation International, focusing on providing loans to small- and medium-sized enterprises operating in forests, oceans, and grasslands. The program aims to support businesses that generate profit while promoting conservation efforts. CI Ventures prioritizes investments in enterprises that address specific local and global needs, including the protection of high-conservation value ecosystems, regenerative systems for food production, nature-positive materials and supply chains, circular economy and resource efficiency, and technology and data for science-based project management. Since its inception, CI Ventures has mobilized over ten times the capital received from its investments, nearing its ten-year target of mobilizing US$ 200 million in co-investment and follow-on financing. Demonstrating the profitability of impact-driven businesses, nine of its portfolio investments have been fully repaid, showcasing the program's effectiveness in fostering sustainable conservation and community development.
