Doug Band co-founded Teneo in 2011, serving as its president and playing a pivotal role in its growth into a leading global advisory firm and investment bank. Under his leadership, Teneo expanded to over 800 employees across 19 offices worldwide, offering services in strategic communications, investor relations, investment banking, and more. Band's extensive experience in both public and private sectors enabled Teneo to provide comprehensive advisory services to a diverse clientele, including Fortune 100 companies and family offices. Prior to his tenure at Teneo, Band served as Deputy Assistant to President Bill Clinton and later as counselor to the president. He was instrumental in establishing the Clinton Global Initiative, which facilitated over 2,000 philanthropic initiatives worldwide. His work involved international negotiations, including efforts to secure the release of American citizens held abroad and assisting nations in the aftermath of natural disasters. In December 2020, Band retired from Teneo to focus on personal interests, including teaching and private investing. He continues to be involved in various philanthropic and advisory roles, leveraging his extensive network and expertise to support initiatives across multiple sectors and regions.
