GFH Financial Group, formerly known as Gulf Finance House, is an Islamic investment bank headquartered in Bahrain Financial Harbour, Bahrain. Established in 1999, GFH has been a key contributor to the development of regional Islamic financial institutions and infrastructure projects across the Middle East. The bank's shares are listed on the Kuwait Stock Exchange, the Bahraini Stock Exchange, the Dubai Financial Market, and the London Stock Exchange in the form of a Global Depositary Receipt (GDR). GFH specializes in private equity and venture capital investments, focusing on sectors such as real estate, infrastructure, energy, healthcare, education, hospitality, retail, technology, telecommunications, transportation, logistics, manufacturing, agriculture, media, entertainment, consumer goods, pharmaceuticals, construction, and utilities. The bank's investment strategy encompasses various stages, including early stage, growth, late stage, buyout, and distressed investments. Geographically, GFH's investments span across the Middle East, North Africa, Europe, and Asia, with a notable presence in countries like the United Kingdom, United States, Germany, France, India, Pakistan, Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore, China, and Australia. Over the years, GFH has diversified its portfolio to serve some of the fastest-growing industries and defensive sectors of MENA region economies. The bank has solidified its listings in three GCC markets and expanded its operations to three GCC locations. Additionally, GFH has extended its investments to new geographic territories, including North America and Europe. Notably, GFH acquired a 25% stake in the English football club Leeds United through its wholly owned subsidiary, Dubai-based GFH Capital, in December 2012. However, in February 2014, GFH Capital announced the sale of Leeds United to Massimo Cellino's family consortium 'Eleonora Sport Ltd'.
