Notably, GFH acquired a 25% stake in the English football club Leeds United through its wholly owned subsidiary, Dubai-based GFH Capital, in December 2012. However, in February 2014, GFH Capital announced the sale of Leeds United to Massimo Cellino's family consortium 'Eleonora Sport Ltd'.
