About Jeff Epstein

Jeff Epstein is an angel investor and operating partner at Bessemer Venture Partners, specializing in marketplaces, B2B cloud software, and advertising technology companies. He serves on the boards of directors and audit committees of Kaiser Permanente, The Priceline Group, Twilio, Shutterstock, Global Eagle Entertainment, and several private companies. He is the former Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Oracle, one of the world’s largest and most profitable technology companies, with a market value of over $150 billion. Prior to joining Oracle, Jeff served as Chief Financial Officer of several public and private companies, including DoubleClick (sold to Google), King World Productions (sold to CBS), and Nielsen’s Media Measurement and Information Group. Earlier in his career, he was an investment banker at The First Boston Corporation. He holds an MBA from the Stanford University Graduate School of Business, where he was an Arjay Miller Scholar, and a BA from Yale College, where he graduated summa cum laude, Phi Beta Kappa. Jeff is also a lecturer at Stanford University. His investment focus includes marketplaces, B2B cloud software, and advertising technology companies. He has a proven track record in building and monetizing shareholder value, with over three decades of C-suite experience as a corporate development leader and general management leader. His expertise spans business development, strategy, M&A, finance, deal-making, and general management, contributing to notable results in middle-market companies with high financial leverage. Jeff's diverse company lifecycle background includes managing growth companies, restructurings, mature companies, and start-ups, providing a foundation to address a wide variety of business challenges. Over the last 16+ years, as Chief Development Officer and executive committee member, he led corporate and business development efforts that transformed a single-business-unit U.S. Promotional Products Industry supplier with $100+ million in sales into a multi-business-unit, global-leading company with around ten digits of sales. He acquired six competitors with mid-nine-digit Total Enterprise Value and led post-merger integration. Jeff was a key member of the executive team that twice successfully sold the company to private equity sponsors, with acquisitions contributing a significant portion of value creation. He led strategy and development efforts resulting in numerous growth initiatives, such as European market entry, Poland product imprinting platform start-up, Global Buying Services platform, partnership-customer agreements with large online resellers, and retail brand licenses. Jeff holds a B.S. in Economics from the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School and an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School.
