Jim Mellon is a British entrepreneur and investor with a diverse portfolio spanning biotechnology, technology, real estate, and financial services. After studying Philosophy, Politics, and Economics at Oxford University, he began his career in fund management with GT Management and Thornton & Co. In 1991, he established his own business, which has since evolved into the Burnbrae Group, encompassing various sectors including banking, mining, and hotels. Through Burnbrae, Mellon has substantial real estate holdings in Germany and the Isle of Man. In the biotechnology and technology sectors, Mellon co-founded Juvenescence, a company dedicated to developing therapies for aging and age-related diseases. He also co-founded Agronomics, focusing on cellular agriculture and alternative proteins. Additionally, he serves as a non-executive director for companies such as Condor Gold, Portage Biotech Inc., Bradda Head Limited, and Agronomics Limited. His leadership extends to being the executive chairman of Manx Financial Group, which owns Conister Bank. Mellon has authored several books, including "Wake Up! Survive and Prosper in the Coming Economic Turmoil," "Juvenescence: Investing in the Age of Longevity," and "Moo’s Law: An Investor’s Guide to the New Agrarian Revolution." He has also established the Mellon Longevity Centre at Oxford and is an honorary fellow of Oriel College.
