An Iranian-born American entrepreneur and philanthropist, Noosheen Hashemi is the founder and CEO of January.ai, a precision health tech company based in Menlo Park, California. She has over three decades of experience in building leadership and execution capabilities for early-stage companies, focusing on disruptive ideas and platforms. Prior to founding January.ai, Hashemi served as the vice president of finance and administration at Oracle Corporation, where she played a pivotal role in scaling the company's revenues from $26 million in 1985 to $3 billion in 1995. In addition to her entrepreneurial endeavors, Hashemi is deeply involved in philanthropy. She is the president and co-founder of The HAND Foundation, an organization dedicated to advancing the philanthropic sector, preventing child sexual abuse, building a global middle class, and preparing and engaging the next generation. She also guides a family office that includes diverse investments in over 100 companies and venture capital funds. Her commitment to social impact is further demonstrated through her advisory roles at the Stanford Institute for Human-Centered Artificial Intelligence (HAI) and the Stanford Institute for Economic Policy Research. Hashemi's contributions have been recognized with several accolades, including the Carnegie Corporation Great Immigrants Award in 2010 and the United Nations Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination Against Women (CEDAW) Human Rights Award for Philanthropy in 2011. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in economics from San Jose State University and a Master of Science degree in management from Stanford University. She resides in Silicon Valley with her husband, Farzad Nazem, a former chief technology officer of Yahoo!, and their two children.
