Shukri Shammas

Shukri Shammas is a Partner and Co-founder at Initial Capital, a London-based early-stage venture capital firm. He specializes in directing seed and Series A investments across the global gaming, consumer technology, and digital entertainment sectors. Through Initial Capital, Shammas has backed several prominent gaming studios, most notably participating in the foundational funding rounds for industry leaders like Supercell and Playfish. His firm's portfolio achieved significant liquidity events when Electronic Arts acquired Playfish for up to $400 million in 2009, and when SoftBank purchased a majority stake in Supercell at a $3 billion valuation in 2013. Alongside his co-founders, he manages a concentrated portfolio of high-growth technology assets. Today, Shammas maintains his primary focus on leveraging his extensive investment background to identify, fund, and scale emerging interactive media startups across the European ecosystem. Prior to founding Initial Capital, Shammas co-founded and led Summix, a technology transfer platform, and advised early-stage founders through accelerator and angel networks.
