Established in 1982 by His Highness Sayyid Shabib bin Taimur Al Said, Tawoos Group began as a family office focusing on trading interests in defense and hydrocarbon industries. Over the years, it has diversified into a conglomerate with investments spanning agriculture, construction, energy, defense, hospitality, telecommunications, healthcare, education, training, media services, leisure and entertainment, industrial catering, operations & maintenance, computer hardware, software, and communications. The group has adopted globally recognized best practices in business management to provide cost-effective, quality services in accordance with international standards. In 1996, Tawoos became the first family-owned company in Oman to seek a public listing on the Muscat Securities Market via an IPO for some of its companies, which were grouped under a holding company called Renaissance Holdings SAOG, now known as Renaissance Services SAOG. Tawoos Group's investment strategy focuses on sectors that contribute to the diversification of the Omani economy, including agriculture, power and telecom, energy, defense, hospitality, and training. The group has also diversified its investments into premium real estate development, global capital markets, private equity, and venture capital. Tawoos Agricultural Systems LLC, a subsidiary of the group, operates over 1,000 hectares of farmland in Oman, producing in excess of 40,000 tons of fresh vegetables and fruits annually. The group's commitment to quality and sustainability is evident in its adherence to international standards and certifications. The group's leadership includes Chairman Samir J. Fancy, Vice Chairman HH Sayyid Tarik bin Shabib Al Said, Board Members HH Sayyida Tania bint Shabib Al Said and HH Sayyid Taimur bin Shabib Al Said, Chief Investment Officer Sameer Ul Haque, and Finance Director Nilanjan Gupta.
