About Tom Werner

Tom Werner is an American television producer and businessman with significant investments in sports and energy sectors. He is the chairman of Fenway Sports Group, which owns the Boston Red Sox, Liverpool F.C., and the Pittsburgh Penguins. Werner has also been involved in the solar energy industry, serving as CEO and chairman of SunPower Corporation for nearly 18 years before stepping down in 2020. In 2024, he returned to SunPower as Executive Chairman of the Board. Werner has also served in board and investor roles at H2U Technologies, Inc., Mainspring Energy, Flo, Wolfspeed, VIA Sciences, and Kanin. He has been inducted into the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences Hall of Fame and the Broadcasting & Cable Magazine Hall of Fame. Werner holds a Bachelor of Arts from Harvard University and resides in San Jose, California.
