Transformational Investing in Food Systems
About Transformational Investing in Food Systems
Transformational Investing in Food Systems (TIFS) is an impact network dedicated to unlocking capital for regenerative and agroecological businesses and financial innovations. TIFS works to close the 'Missing Middle'—the persistent gap between the capital needs of regenerative food producers and the mandates of institutional investors. They convene investors, funders, enterprises, and producers to co-create the financial strategies and innovations needed to bridge this gap. Through applied research, collaborative design, and field-tested pilots, TIFS prototypes and scales investment structures that make regenerative and agroecological food systems financeable at scale. Their work spans five continents—Brazil, Canada, East Africa, Europe, Indonesia, and the United States—engaging producers, investors, philanthropists, and policymakers in creating new financial architectures for food systems. By integrating efforts across natural capital, infrastructure, lending, insurance, and data, TIFS is helping build the foundation for a more resilient, equitable, and regenerative global food economy.
