About this Program
AWS Activate is Amazon Web Services' programme providing African startups with access to cloud computing resources to accelerate product development, scale operations, and experiment with advanced technologies including AI and machine learning. Startups can apply for cloud credits used on the AWS platform to reduce infrastructure costs. Two main packages: AWS Activate Founders (entry tier) and AWS Activate Portfolio (higher tier with credits up to USD 100,000, typically requires association with AWS Activate Provider such as accelerator or VC). AWS expanded its 2nd-generation Outposts racks to Nigeria, Morocco, and Senegal in January 2026, further strengthening African infrastructure.
