About this Program
EEP Africa is a clean energy financing facility hosted by the Nordic Development Fund with funding from Austria, Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway and Switzerland. CfP2026 provides grants and repayable grants of EUR 200,000-500,000 for early-stage clean energy projects in 17 target countries. Minimum 30-50% co-financing required depending on project phase and company maturity. CfP2026 limits applications from Kenya, Botswana, Mauritius, Namibia and South Africa to e-waste management projects. Two-stage application: Expression of Interest then Full Proposal.

Eligibility
Private companies, start-ups and social enterprises from any country with early-stage projects in EEP Africa target countries (Botswana, Burundi, Comoros, Eswatini, Kenya, Lesotho, Madagascar, Malawi, Mauritius, Mozambique, Namibia, Rwanda, South Africa, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia, Zimbabwe). Strong local presence required. Registered legal entity for at least 6 months. NGOs, charities, research institutions, government entities not directly eligible.
