Overview
The African Economic Research Consortium (AERC), a leading African research and capacity building institution headquartered in Nairobi and supporting economic policy research across Sub-Saharan Africa, is procuring a scalable and interoperable Network Attached Storage (NAS) solution. The NAS will centralise data storage at AERC headquarters, ensuring compatibility with existing AERC IT infrastructure and supporting research data, document management, backup and collaboration workloads. The successful vendor will deliver hardware, configure the storage architecture, integrate with the existing network and provide knowledge transfer to AERC ICT team.
Scope of Work
Supply and delivery of NAS hardware (chassis, drives, controllers, redundancy components) per agreed specifications. Installation, configuration and integration with AERC existing network and authentication systems. Configuration of storage pools, shares, snapshots and replication. Backup integration. Performance testing and acceptance. Documentation and knowledge transfer to AERC ICT team. Warranty and post-implementation support.
Requirements & Qualifications
Authorised vendor or partner of recognised NAS platforms (Synology, QNAP, Dell EMC, NetApp, HPE or equivalent). Demonstrated experience deploying NAS for research, academic or institutional clients. Local presence in Kenya for support. Compliance with AERC procurement requirements.
Evaluation Criteria
AERC standard procurement: mandatory compliance, technical evaluation (specifications fit, vendor track record, support model), financial evaluation. Award to lowest evaluated responsive bidder.
