APPOINTMENT OF A CONSULTANT (ELECTRONIC ENGINEER) TO PROVIDE TECHNICAL ADVICE ON CCTV CAMERAS AND ACCESS CONTROL SYSTEM
The South African Bureau of Standards has published a notice to appoint an electronic engineer to act as a consultant, advising the organisation on surveillance camera equipment and on an access control system. The engagement is advisory: the person appointed counsels the standards body on the equipment and systems in question rather than installing, supplying or maintaining them. Beyond that headline the published record is bare. The notice carries no narrative account of the assignment, so the volume of work, the site or sites concerned, the length of any appointment and the deliverables expected are all unstated. A vendor of cameras or access control hardware would find nothing here to price against, and a consulting engineer would need the underlying documents before judging fit. The notice does not say what the advice is to cover, how or in what form it must be delivered, which qualifications or professional registrations are expected, or what a submission ought to contain.
