Construction of Low Voltage Lines, Services wire, Ready Boards in Towns and Cities
ESCOM invites sealed bids for the construction of low voltage lines, service wires and ready boards in designated towns and cities across Malawi’s northern, central, southern and eastern regions. The project is part of the ASCENT Malawi initiative, financed by the World Bank, and targets urban electrification works in Mzuzu, Lilongwe, Blantyre, Zomba and other cities. Bidders must register, pay a fee and obtain documents from ESCOM’s procurement office or website. Bids close on 30 September 2026 and will be publicly opened the same day. The procurement follows World Bank rules and is open to eligible national and international firms.
Overview
The Electricity Supply Corporation of Malawi (ESCOM) is inviting bids for the construction of low voltage distribution networks, service wiring and ready boards in designated urban areas under the ASCENT Malawi project. The works are financed by the World Bank and will be implemented in four geographic lots covering northern, central, southern and eastern Malawi.
