Tanzania Railways Corporation has issued a Request for Expressions of Interest for consultancy services to carry out field assessment, detailed engineering design and preparation of procurement documents for rehabilitation of railway track and structures, including bridges and culverts, along the Kilosa, Gulwe, Igandu flood prone section covering 120 km. The assignment falls under the Second Tanzania Intermodal and Rail Development Project, funded through an IDA credit from the World Bank. Consulting firms are invited to submit information demonstrating their qualifications and relevant experience. Shortlisting will consider the firm's core business and years of operation, at least three similar contracts completed in the last ten years with details of client, value and dates, and the technical and managerial capacity of the organization, without submission of key staff CVs at this stage. A shortlist of five to eight firms will be prepared. Firms may associate through joint ventures or sub-consultancies, with joint venture partners held jointly and severally liable and each required to have completed at least one similar contract. Selection will follow the Quality and Cost Based Selection method under the World Bank's Procurement Regulations for IPF Borrowers, Seventh Edition, September 2025. The anticipated execution period for the assignment is six calendar months.

Requirements & Qualifications
- The shortlisting criteria are (i) Core Business and years in business (ii) relevant experience in similar assignments - the successful execution of at least three (iii) contracts of similar nature (by size and complexity) in the last ten years - information to be provided should include the name of the assignment, name including full contact details of the client, contract value (in equivalent US dollars) and period (dates) of execution of assignments; (iii) technical and managerial capability of the firm (provide only the structure of the organization, general qualifications and number of appropriate experts). Do not provide CV of the key staff. The Key Experts will not be evaluated at the shortlisting stage. The shortlist will contain five (5) to eight (8) eligible firms.
