Overview
IUCN PACO is recruiting a communications consultant to support the PICVERT project (Programme Intégré de Conservation et de Valorisation des Espaces et Ressources Transfrontaliers) in the Niokolo-Badiar-Boé transboundary landscape covering Senegal (Niokolo-Koba National Park), Guinea (Badiar National Park) and Guinea-Bissau (Boé National Park). This is one of the most important landscapes in West Africa for biodiversity, including critically endangered chimpanzees and West African lions.
Scope of Work
Develop and execute the PICVERT communications strategy. Produce news articles, blog posts, photo stories, short videos, social media content. Manage stakeholder communications across the three countries. Support visibility events, donor missions and media engagement. Coordinate with the three national park authorities and local communities. Ensure donor visibility. Contribute to project reporting. Document lessons learned.
Requirements & Qualifications
Demonstrated communications experience in conservation, environment or development sectors. Native or fluent French (working language across the three countries); English an advantage. Experience working in West Africa, ideally in Senegal, Guinea or Guinea-Bissau. Photography, video production or graphic design skills highly valued. Eligible to work and travel across the three countries. IUCN Declaration of Undertaking.
Evaluation Criteria
IUCN standard consultancy evaluation: technical proposal (CV, methodology, portfolio), financial proposal. Combined scoring with technical weight 70% and financial 30%; award to highest combined score within budget range.
