Overview
The New Kenya Planters Cooperative Union PLC (NKPCU), the apex coffee cooperative in Kenya, is procuring certified coffee seedlings for distribution to member cooperatives and farmers. Certified seedlings ensure quality, varietal purity and disease tolerance, supporting Kenya coffee sector productivity and quality.
Scope of Work
Production and supply of certified coffee seedlings of approved Kenyan varieties (Ruiru 11, Batian, SL28, SL34 or as specified). Quality assurance per Coffee Research Institute (CRI) and KEPHIS standards. Packaging and delivery to designated NKPCU collection points. Replacement guarantee for non-viable seedlings within agreed period.
Requirements & Qualifications
Licensed and certified coffee nursery operator in Kenya. KEPHIS certification of seedling production. References from prior coffee seedling supply contracts. Statutory compliance documents. Bid security per tender document.
Evaluation Criteria
Preliminary mandatory compliance, technical evaluation (certification, capacity, references, quality assurance), financial evaluation. Award to lowest evaluated responsive bidder.
