Overview

TradeMark Africa is recruiting an individual Fisheries Expert to provide short-term strategic technical advice on fisheries trade, value chains and standards. The work supports TMA Women in Trade and Resilient and Inclusive Trade programming, as fisheries are an important value chain for women traders and small-scale operators across East Africa.

Scope of Work

Provide strategic technical advice on fisheries sector dynamics, value chains, trade barriers, standards (SPS), sustainability and women in fisheries. Support TMA programme design and implementation related to fisheries. Conduct rapid assessments and produce briefing notes. Engage with fisheries authorities, private sector and producer organisations as needed. Participate in TMA technical meetings.

Requirements & Qualifications

Senior expert with 15+ years experience in fisheries economics, trade or value chain development. Strong East Africa experience preferred. Published track record in fisheries policy or economics. Strong English; French/Swahili an advantage. Available on call-off basis.

TMA EOI evaluation: CV review, technical interview, reference checks. Award to expert offering best combination of expertise, fit and value for money.
