Overview

TradeMark Africa is procuring Smart Gates - automated border control gates - for installation at selected border posts. Smart Gates use biometrics, machine-readable travel document scanning and automated risk profiling to speed up legitimate cross-border passenger flows while improving security. This is part of TMA broader trade facilitation and One-Stop Border Post (OSBP) modernisation programme.

Scope of Work

Design of Smart Gate solution per TMA functional specifications and host country immigration requirements. Supply and delivery of Smart Gate hardware (kiosks, biometric readers, document scanners, control systems). Installation and integration with host country border management systems. Commissioning, acceptance testing and operator training. Warranty and post-deployment support.

Requirements & Qualifications

Firm with demonstrated experience designing, supplying and installing automated border control / Smart Gate solutions at international borders. Track record at airports, land borders or seaports, preferably in Africa or comparable jurisdictions. Compliance with TradeMark Africa Supplier Code of Conduct.

Evaluation Criteria

TMA EOI two-stage process: shortlisting based on EOI submission; full RFP issued to shortlisted firms; technical and financial evaluation; award to highest combined-score responsive bidder.
