Overview

TradeMark Africa is recruiting a Communications Technical Assistant to support its Business Environment and Export Enhancement Programme (BEEEP). BEEEP works with East African governments and the private sector to reduce regulatory barriers to trade, improve the export environment for SMEs (with particular focus on women-led and youth-led enterprises) and increase the value of exports from East Africa to global markets. The Technical Assistant supports the programme communications function.

Scope of Work

Develop and execute the BEEEP communications plan with the Programme Manager and TMA Communications team. Produce communications products (case studies, success stories, blog posts, videos, social media content). Support stakeholder events, workshops and donor missions. Manage media relations. Ensure donor visibility requirements are met. Contribute to programme reporting (quarterly, annual, donor-specific).

Requirements & Qualifications

Bachelor degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, International Development or related field. Minimum 5 years professional communications experience, ideally in development, trade or private sector contexts. Strong written and spoken English; French an advantage. Demonstrated experience producing donor-funded programme communications. Familiarity with East African trade facilitation context. Eligible to work in Kenya.

Evaluation Criteria

TMA standard EOI evaluation: shortlisting based on CV and cover letter; technical interview; reference checks; financial negotiation. Award to candidate offering best combination of demonstrated experience, fit and value for money.
