About Apam Fishing Community Cooperative
Apam is a historic Fante fishing town in Central Region, Ghana, one of the main artisanal fishing centres along Ghana's 550-km Atlantic coastline. The Apam Fishing Community Cooperative represents thousands of Fante artisanal fishermen and fish processors who supply fresh and smoked fish to the Ghanaian market. Apam is also historically significant as the site of the Apam Fetu Afahye festival celebrating Fante culture and fishing heritage.
