Bibliotheca Alexandrina

The Bibliotheca Alexandrina is a major Egyptian library and cultural centre in Alexandria, opened in 2002 as a revival of the legendary Ancient Library of Alexandria (destroyed in antiquity). The modern library holds 8 million books, multiple museums, research institutes, art galleries, and a planetarium, and is one of the most significant cultural institutions in the Arab world.
