Dar Al-Hilal is one of Egypt's oldest publishing houses, founded in 1892 by Jurji Zaydan. The publisher issues Al-Hilal magazine (one of the oldest Arab cultural magazines), Mussawar, and numerous books, and has been central to Egyptian and Arab cultural publishing for over 130 years.
