El Gouna is Egypt's premier fully-integrated Red Sea resort town, developed by Samih Sawiris and Orascom Development from 1989 onwards. Located north of Hurghada, El Gouna features luxury hotels, residences, marinas, golf courses, an international airport, schools, a hospital, and is known as "Little Venice" for its lagoons. It hosts the annual El Gouna Film Festival.
