About Kilimanjaro Cooperative Union

Kilimanjaro Native Cooperative Union (KNCU) is the oldest African cooperative union, founded in 1933 by Chagga coffee farmers on the slopes of Mount Kilimanjaro. KNCU represents thousands of smallholder Chagga coffee farmers producing some of the world's most highly-regarded arabica coffee, and is a pillar of Tanzanian cooperative heritage and indigenous economic organisation.
