Leather Products Manufacturers Association of Abia

The Leather Products Manufacturers Association of Abia State (LEPMAAS) is the umbrella association representing the Aba finished-leather manufacturing cluster, which is the biggest finished-leather sector in West Africa with approximately 50,000 people directly engaged in the manufacture of shoes, belts, and bags. Headquartered at Ariaria International Market in Aba, LEPMAAS coordinates over 100,000 individual Aba shoemakers and leather artisans, collectively producing approximately one million pairs of shoes per week for the Nigerian domestic market and exports to Cameroon, Cote d'Ivoire, Ghana, and other West and Central African countries.
