Office du Niger

Office du Niger is one of West Africa's largest irrigated agricultural schemes, founded in 1932 under French colonial rule along the Niger River in central Mali. Covering over 100,000 hectares, it produces rice, sugar cane, and vegetables, supporting tens of thousands of tenant farmers. The Office du Niger is critical for Mali's food security.
