Pharco Pharmaceuticals is a leading Egyptian indigenous pharmaceutical company founded in 1986 by Sherine Abbas Helmy, producing branded and generic medicines for the Egyptian and regional markets. Pharco was globally recognised for developing Marcyrl (a low-cost hepatitis C treatment) that helped Egypt become the first country to largely eliminate hepatitis C.
