Silverbird Group

Silverbird Group is a Nigerian media and entertainment conglomerate founded in 1980 by Ben Murray-Bruce ("Senator Common Sense"), a veteran Nigerian businessman, former Senator for Bayelsa East, and former Director-General of the Nigerian Television Authority. Silverbird operates across television (Silverbird TV, STV), radio (Rhythm 93.7 FM in Lagos, Abuja, Port Harcourt, and Enugu), cinemas (Silverbird Cinemas – Nigeria's largest cinema chain with locations across Lagos, Abuja, Port Harcourt, Ibadan, and Uyo), lifestyle retail (Silverbird Galleria in Lagos and Abuja), and beauty pageants (Most Beautiful Girl in Nigeria, from which several Miss Worlds have emerged). The group is widely credited with modernising Nigerian cinema-going and media entertainment.
