SNIM - Société Nationale Industrielle et Minière

Société Nationale Industrielle et Minière (SNIM) is Mauritania's state-owned iron ore mining giant and one of Africa's largest mining companies, founded in 1974. SNIM operates the iconic F'Derik and Zouerate iron ore mines in the Sahara, and the Nouadhibou export terminal. Iron ore is Mauritania's main export and SNIM is the largest employer after the state.
