Wigwe University

Wigwe University is a new private Nigerian university based in Isiokpo, Rivers State, founded as a memorial and legacy project by the late Dr Herbert Onyewumbu Wigwe CON (Group CEO of Access Holdings who died in a helicopter crash in California on 9 February 2024 alongside his wife, son, and the former NGX Chairman Abimbola Ogunbanjo). The university was launched posthumously in 2024 following Dr Wigwe's long-standing vision to create a world-class liberal arts university in Nigeria, and is managed by the Wigwe family. The campus hosts faculties in business, sciences, humanities, and social sciences and is one of the newest additions to the Nigerian private university ecosystem.
