Description
Works contract under the Guinea-Mali Interconnection Project (P166042). Scope covers design, supply and installation of high-voltage equipment including a 225/30 kV transformer, switchgear, control and protection systems, and commissioning of the Kankan substation. Initial contract value USD 9,358,505.21, with a price adjustment of USD 3,808,560.16 representing 40.69 percent of the initial contract. As of 30 September 2024 the overall physical progress was 69.55 percent. The previous implementation mission noted slow progress due to inadequate mobilization of material and human resources by the contractor. Since that mission, the contractor deployed additional staff and machinery on site, allowing the progress rate to reach 69 percent. The main electrical equipment including the transformer was shipped and expected for delivery in Conakry by 30 November 2024. Completion of works is scheduled for 28 February 2025. Contractor name not disclosed in the public Implementation Status Report.
