ADB Ventures is the corporate venture capital arm of the Asian Development Bank (ADB), established to support early-stage technology startups with significant potential to scale and deliver climate impact across developing Asia. Its vision includes mobilizing more than $1 billion in risk capital to foster sustainable development. The investment strategy of ADB Ventures encompasses providing patient venture capital to early-stage technology companies with climate and impact-focused solutions. The organization offers initial investments of up to $4 million to startups with the potential to scale and create climate and development impact. Additionally, ADB Ventures provides SEED capital of up to $200,000 to de-risk earlier-stage companies and pilot high-impact innovations. The sectors of interest include agriculture, agriTech, clean technology, climateTech, green mobility, healthTech, FinTech, edTech, waterTech, energy, infrastructure, logistics, supply chain, manufacturing, retail, consumer goods, media, entertainment, telecommunications, and education. ADB Ventures operates with a geographical focus on countries across Asia and the Pacific, including the Philippines, Indonesia, Vietnam, Bangladesh, India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Afghanistan, Maldives, Bhutan, Myanmar, Cambodia, Laos, Mongolia, Timor-Leste, Papua New Guinea, Fiji, Solomon Islands, and Vanuatu. The organization aims to catalyze additional investment into the region’s most promising sustainable startups, leveraging the Asian Development Bank’s network and resources to maximize the startups’ growth and impact potential.
