BLOC Smart Africa is a blended finance technology impact fund managed by Bamboo Capital Partners, focusing on investments in African startups that utilize scalable technology solutions to create growth opportunities for underserved communities. The fund aims to raise $100 million and has received support from the Governments of Luxembourg and Côte d'Ivoire as anchor sponsors. BLOC Smart Africa is part of SDG500, a $500 million public-private blended finance impact investing platform dedicated to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals. The fund's investment strategy targets businesses in sectors such as technology, financial services, insurance, healthcare, education, agriculture, energy, infrastructure, retail, transportation, telecommunications, media, real estate, manufacturing, and tourism. It focuses on companies at seed, early stage, and growth stages, with investments ranging from $1 million to $10 million. The geographical focus includes countries like Côte d'Ivoire, Luxembourg, Mauritius, and Rwanda. BLOC Smart Africa's mission is to accelerate Africa's digital transformation by supporting innovative startups that address critical challenges and contribute to sustainable economic development across the continent.
